A limited edition of just 52 artworks in cotton terrycloth. Designed in San Francisco and jaquard woven in the USA.
“I make collage-style oil paintings composed of images that range from the everyday (gates, locks, pigeons) to discarded second hand goods (glass swans, porcelain statues) to tragicomic scenes and signage (PSA’s, cars on fire). Removing these objects and images from their original setting and placing them in conversation with other images allows them to take on new meanings. I’m interested in the interactions created by these combinations of imagery, and how these combinations resonate differently according to the audience.”

Morgan Corbitt’s (b. 1997) paintings straddle the lines between realism and representation. Using photographs from her camera roll as a reference, she distorts and multiplies these images, re-contextualizing them in the process. Her work explores our relationship to the object-world.
Morgan received a B.A. in Studio Art from San Francisco State. Recent solo exhibitions have taken place with Good Mother Gallery (2021) and Adobe Books (2022). Corbitt lives and works in San Francisco.
Morgan currently has an artwork at 120710 gallery in Berkeley, CA and has two solo shows coming up this fall at Bass & Reiner and Four Barrel. Details to come ~
“The inspiration for this towel came from images I collected on my walks around the city”
